RIDE SITE: Ride site is an abandoned well site which is has direct entrance off the range road. Site is flat however bring planks for levelling your unit if needed. There will be water for horses on site. Porta Potties on site. This is a no frills ride therefore no meals will be provided to riders or crew. Ride Management is planning to host a potluck dinner on Saturday evening prior to awards ceremony for the 25/50 mile events. For those wishing to partake, we ask that you bring a side or salad for the table.
Entry into camp for the 100 mile riders is Thursday 4pm. All other distances Friday 2pm.
Vetting will begin at 5pm on Friday.
Ride Briefing 8pm on Friday.
TRAIL: Trails are 100% barefoot friendly. They are a mix of single and double tracked bush trails. Solid sand base.
Directions to Ride Site:
- From the East – From Valleyview turn North onto Highway 49. Follow Highway 49 to Donnelly Corner, turn West (still Highway 49) and continue 47.5 kms to RR 252. Turn South onto RR 252 and follow for approx 7km. Watch for signs stating where to turn right, cross the Texas gate and follow up the knoll to ride site.
- From the West – From Grande Prairie travel North on Hwy 2 to Rycroft. Turn East onto Hwy 49 and follow for 62.9km to Range Road 252. Turn South onto RR 252 and follow for approx 7km. Watch for signs stating where to turn right, cross the Texas gate and follow up the knoll to ride site.
