Canadian Western Regional Endurance Challenge – EQUESTRIAN CANADA SANCTIONED EVENT
PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NOT AN ERA SANCTIONED EVENT. THERE WILL BE NO ERA SANCTIONED RIDE DISTANCES TAKING PLACE ON THE 24th, THE ERA EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE ON THE SUNDAY (AUGUST 25th) FOLLOWING AS A ONE DAY EVENT.
PRE-QUALIFICATIONS ARE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS 100 KM REGIONAL CHALLENGE EVENT.

Equestrian Canada Endurance is pleased to support a Western Regional Endurance Challenge in 2024:
- The event will be one distance of 100 km
- An Individual Senior and Junior podium winner will be recognized, along with a BC in each division (Senior/Junior)
- There will be a team component. Each province will be eligible to enter one team of 4 athletes, allowing both Senior and Junior athletes on a team.
- The host province, Alberta, is allowed two teams.
- The best three team members’ times count to the team’s final score and podium placing.
Minimum qualifications for entering:
- Having completed one EC sanctioned endurance ride of at least 80 km within 2 years of the Challenge entry close date (An EC sanctioned 80 km Event will be held in conjunction with both the Silverberry Spectacular and Jackpines for qualifying.)
- Having accumulated a minimum of 160 endurance km in the two years of the Challenge entry close date
- It is up to the provinces to select team members
- Riders who are not selected to their provincial team may ride as an Open/Individual rider, or may choose to help complete another province’s team
- Competitors are required to hold an EC Bronze Sport License
