Trail:  All of the trail is 2 track.  Terrain is through forested areas and through sandy jack pine areas.  There is little gravel (less than 1km) therefore very barefoot friendly.  There will be 2 river crossings, which are both hard flat bottoms, and the river is dammed so there should be low flow.

Ride Camp: We will be in a pretty level field.  Hay will have been cut but there will likely be second cut alfalfa growing back up.  There will be porta potties on site and horse water provided.  Plan is to have a potluck type meal on Saturday evening and we will be BBQing burgers (cross out fingers… yum yum).  Good cell reception in camp.  Located 10 minutes from the Town of High Prairie.  Early arrival, late departure is possible but must be arranged with Ride Organizer.  Dogs are welcome but CANNOT be off leash and are NOT allowed in vetting or crewing areas at any time.  This is a no frills ride.  Light snacks (fruit, cookies, bars) will be provided for riders, but there will be no dinner provided on Saturday/Sunday evening.  We do hope to have a bonfire Saturday night.

Directions to Ride Camp:  From High Prairie, AB take Highway 749 North (MAC’s Intersection).  Drive until you cross the South Heart River Bridge, slow down, take your next left (West on Twp Rd 755B).  Follow this gravel road approximately 2 miles.  You will see signs leading you to camp.  Ride camp opens Friday, August 5th at noon.  Rider meeting 8pm Friday/Saturday.

The event is finished.
