Trails: The trails are a combination of anything the bush could throw at you. It’s a natural wild environment, from sandy trails to dense bush, to trails fit for quads as well as some muddy spots. We have started trail cleaning and prep, managing to find ways around most of the muddy spots however plan to have a few water logged areas. There will be some road near camp and a bit of lease road. Trails are barefoot safe however recommend hoof protection for the longer distances as a precaution.

Ride Camp: Long Island Lake Light Horse Club. There is no grass on site so bring adequate hay. Fresh water for horses is supplied. Porta potties will be on site. There is limited parking so we ask that riders be mindful of space when setting pens. Early arrival and delayed departure are acceptable however please advise April so she can plan accordingly. At this time there is no location for manure disposal – be prepared to take out with you if other arrangements cannot be completed with the land owner. All dogs are to be on leash AT ALL TIMES. No dogs allowed in the hall or arena. No fires at your trailer – we will have a community fire should restrictions allow.

Directions to Ride Camp: (Click here for a map)FROM SOUTH (WESTLOCK): Head North through Westlock on Highway 44 for 23 kms to the Hwy 881/601 Junction (Dapp Corner Store). Turn right onto Hwy 801. Go north 12 kms until you see the sign for Long Island Lake (Twp Rd 633A). Turn Right onto Township Road 633A (winds and turns into Twp Rd 634A) and proceed east 4.6 kms until you hit the fork in the road. Take the left fork and proceed to ride camp on the Right side of the road – Long Island Lake Horse Club grounds.

FROM NORTH (SLAVE LAKE): Head South towards Westlock on Highway 44 to Hwy 881/601 Junction (Dapp Corner Store). Turn left onto Hwy 801. Go North 12 kms until you see the sign for Long Island Lake (Twp Rd 633A). Turn Right onto Township Road 633A (winds and turns into Twp Rd 634A) and proceed east 4.6 kms until you hit the fork in the road. Take the left fork and proceed to ride camp on the right side of the road – Long Island Lake Horse Club grounds.
