DESCRIPTION:PRE-QUALIFICATIONS ARE REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS 100 KM REGIONAL CHALLENGE EVENT.    \nCANADIAN WESTERN REGIONAL ENDURANCE CHALLENGE\nMSW Farms – Ponoka, Alberta\nAugust 24, 2024\nWe are pleased to offer the Western Regional Endurance Challenge in 2024:\n\nThe event will be one distance of 100 km\nAn Individual Senior and Junior podium winner will be recognized, along with a BC in each division (Senior/Junior)\nThere will be a team component. Each province will be eligible to enter one team of 4 athletes in each age category (Senior/Junior)\nThe best three team members’ times count to the team’s final score and podium placing.\n\nMinimum qualifications for entering:\n\nHaving completed one EC sanctioned endurance ride of at least 80 km between January 1, 2022 and entry close date.\nHaving accumulated a minimum of 160 endurance km in between January 1, 2022 and entry close date\nIt is up to the provinces to select team members\nRiders who are not selected to their provincial team may ride as an Open/Individual rider, or may choose to help complete another province’s team\nCompetitors are required to hold an EC Bronze Sport License\n\nALL QUESTIONS – PLEASE DIRECT TO OUR COMPETITION MANAGER – \nBRENDA HENRIKSON – henriksonbrenda@gmail.com\n \nCLICK HERE TO RIDE POSTER\nRegistration Opens:  July 25, 2024 – CLICK HERE TO ENTER\nRegistration Closes:  Noon on August 15, 2024\nRide Date:  August 24, 2024\nLocation: MSW Farms – Ponoka, AB\nTechnical Delegate: Sandra Coombe\nCompetition Manager: Brenda Henrikson – henriksonbrenda@gmail.com\nRide Secretary: Natasha Dombrosky – eraregistrations@hotmail.com\nVeterinarians: Dr Glenn Sinclair DVM, Dr Stacy Homer DVM\nSaturday Evening Awards Dinner:  We will be having an Awards Dinner on Saturday evening prior to the Awards presentation.  Tickets for dinner MUST be pre-purchased by ride entry close (an option to purchase is included in the ride entry form).  The dinner menu is: Smoked Beef, 3 salads, baked beans, and homemade pie for dessert.  Tickets are: $20/adult, $15/Youth aged 9-14, kids 8 and under are free.\nTrail: Some of the best trails around! A mix of one and two track trails that Mark freshly mows a majority of prior to the ride. Footing is mainly pasture, hay fields, old road and bush trail with a tiny bit of gravel. There are 2 shallow river crossings. Barefoot friendly.\n\nRide Camp: 24′ Steel panel pens are provided for all horses where you can park your rig in front of.  Pens are large enough to house 2 horses comfortably.   Horse water is to the pens. Porta potties on site. Potable water also to the site.  See links below for directions to ride site.  We will have food trucks and an ice cream/candy truck on site Saturday (as well as Sunday for the ERA event) for those wishing to purchase food or snack items.\n\nCamp fees: Weekend use fees are negotiated by ERA with the owners prior to the event based on preliminary numbers. Feel free to come early or stay longer however those days must be arranged with Mark and Tina, our amazing hosts at MSW Farms.
